AI Agent for Business: What It Is and What It Costs (2026 Guide)
An AI agent for business is software that completes a whole task on the business's behalf through a natural-language conversation: it answers the customer, understands the need, performs an action such as booking an appointment or opening an inquiry, and reports back. A chatbot answers questions; an agent also acts, because it is connected to a calendar, a phone line or a CRM and finishes the job. In Israel, AI agents for small businesses cost between ₪29 and ₪3,599 a month depending on what they do, and the most common is the voice agent that answers the phone.

In 2026 every vendor calls everything an “AI agent”: an email-writing plugin, a website chat, a WhatsApp bot and a system that answers the phone. This guide gives a working definition, sorts the types, lists the prices published in Israel with sources, and ends with a question list for the vendor call.
What an AI agent is, in one sentence
An AI agent is a language model given a goal, tools and instructions, which it uses to complete a task without a person directing each step. In a small business the task is usually “handle this inquiry to the end”. Five components turn a language model into an agent.
- Language model (LLM): the part that understands the customer's sentence and decides what to answer.
- Tools: calendar, phone, CRM, WhatsApp. Without them the model can talk but cannot do.
- Instructions: what the business offers, what may be promised, what is urgent, what is forbidden. At Azorly this is the characterization.
- Context: who is calling, what was said earlier in the call, whether this is an existing customer.
- Guardrails: what the agent never does (no invented prices, no medical or legal advice) and when it hands over to a person.
AI agent vs chatbot vs automation
The three terms blur together in marketing, but the difference between them decides how much work is left for you after the customer reached out.
| Classic automation | Chatbot | AI agent | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How it gets input | A fixed trigger: a form submitted, a time reached | A text question, usually from a menu | Free conversation by voice or text |
| Flexibility | None: any undefined case fails | Low: answers what is in the knowledge base | High: understands new phrasing and asks for clarification |
| Action | Performs exactly the defined step | Usually shows information or a link | Acts: books, transfers a call, opens an inquiry |
| When it does not know | Error | “I did not understand, try again” | Asks, records, or hands to a person by the rules |
| Small-business example | Automatic SMS after a website form | Website chat answering opening hours | An assistant that answers the phone and books |
Types of AI agents for a small business
| Type | Channel | What it does | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Voice agent | Phone | Answers calls, triages, books appointments, transfers urgent cases, summarizes | Any business that misses calls: clinics, trades, offices |
| Chat or WhatsApp agent | Website, WhatsApp, Messenger | Answers in writing, books appointments, collects leads | Businesses whose customers write more than they call |
| Office agent | Email, documents | Drafts, summarizes, sorts, reminds | Offices buried in paperwork |
| Outbound agent | Outgoing phone or WhatsApp | Calls leads, confirms appointments, reminds | Businesses with waitlists and many appointments; subject to the spam law |
What a voice AI agent does in an Israeli business, step by step
One call, from ring to summary
- 1
The call arrives
The business phone rings for 20 seconds. With no answer, call forwarding moves the call to the agent. The business number stays.
- 2
Speech recognition
What the caller says becomes text in real time, with business keywords (treatment names, doctors' names) improving accuracy.
- 3
Understanding and decision
The language model reads the sentence alongside the business's characterization and decides: answer, ask, book, transfer.
- 4
Action through tools
A calendar check, logging an inquiry, transferring the call to the owner's mobile in an urgent case.
- 5
Speech
The answer is turned into Hebrew speech. At Azorly that is ElevenLabs' Eleven v4 model, with numbers and times normalized into words.
- 6
Summary and report
When the call ends the agent writes a summary, classifies it (lead, customer, urgent, supplier, spam) and sends it to WhatsApp and email. The recording and transcript are stored in the dashboard.
What an AI agent costs in Israel
Israel has four pricing models: a monthly minute bundle (the most common), per-call pricing, a per-second platform with a monthly minimum in dollars, and a retainer with an agency that builds a custom agent. The table shows prices published as of 4 Oct 2026.
| Vendor | Pricing model | Price | What is included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mazkira AI | Minute bundle | ₪39.90 / ₪99 / ₪149 a month for 300 / 1,000 / 3,000 minutes | Message taking, email transcript, calendar booking |
| Onim Li | Per call | ₪29 / ₪149 / ₪299 a month for 40 / 200 / 500 calls | Answers missed calls, WhatsApp summary |
| Genie | Minute bundle | ₪179 / ₪549 / ₪3,599 a month for 250 / 1,000 / 10,000 minutes | Phone and WhatsApp; outbound calls, calendar and CRM on Enterprise |
| Juba Digital | Agency | Ongoing operation from ₪400 a month + setup per project | Custom agent on Twilio and language models, calendar, urgent routing |
| Yappr | Per-second platform | $0.30 per minute, minimum $600 a month; or $997 for 5,000 minutes | Platform for building Hebrew agents, integrations |
| Azorly | Minute bundle | ₪199 / ₪449 / ₪999 a month + VAT for 200 / 600 / 1,500 minutes | Guided characterization, urgency triage, human transfer, AI copilot, WhatsApp summary |
Why does a Hebrew agent cost more than an English one abroad? Industry estimates put Hebrew voice processing at about 3 times the cost of English, because the models that handle Hebrew well are fewer and pricier. Global platforms such as Synthflow or Retell quote $0.07–0.19 per minute before Hebrew, before an Israeli number and before anyone builds the agent.
10 questions to ask a vendor before signing
- Which voice model do you use, and does it support Hebrew? At ElevenLabs, Hebrew is supported in Eleven v4, v4 Turbo and v3, and not in Flash v2.5.
- Can I hear a Hebrew demo with my business's terms, rather than only your demo script?
- What does the agent do when it does not know? The right answer is “records and promises a callback”, never “fills in from general knowledge”.
- How does an urgent case reach me, and how fast?
- Does my number stay? How does the connection work, and what is the code?
- Where are recordings stored, is there a data processing agreement under Amendment 13, and how long is data kept?
- Does the agent say it is an AI and that the call is recorded? The Privacy Protection Authority's draft guidance requires it.
- How do I change behavior: with a sentence in Hebrew, or through a support ticket?
- Does the price include VAT? What does an extra minute cost? Is there a commitment or a setup fee?
- What do I get after every call: summary, transcript, recording, classification? Where?
When an AI agent is the wrong fit
- When payment must be taken over the phone. A voice agent should never receive credit card numbers.
- When most calls are negotiation or complex complaint handling. A person wins there.
- When customers call only in English and Hebrew is not needed. A global platform will be cheaper.
- When you need a 50-seat call centre with full queue management. That is a different system.
