How Much Does Phone Answering Cost: Human Bureaus vs AI vs a Receptionist
Phone answering for an Israeli business costs between ₪79 and ₪429 a month at a human answering bureau (50–200 minutes), between ₪39.90 and ₪549 a month for Israeli AI answering, and in the order of ₪6,000–9,500 a month for a full-time salaried receptionist. The real price depends on call minutes per month, answering hours and what the service does beyond taking a message. This page lists every price published on the Israeli market as of 4 Oct 2026, with sources, and a per-minute calculation that lets you compare.

Comparing phone answering prices in Israel is confusing by design. Some vendors quote with VAT and some without, some count minutes and some count calls, and most advertise a first-month promotion instead of the standing price. The tables here show prices as published, note VAT where the vendor stated it, and translate everything into a price per minute.
Human answering bureaus: price by vendor
Human bureaus price by a monthly bundle of minutes. An agent answers in the business's name, takes a message and sends it by email or SMS. The bigger the bundle, the lower the per-minute price.
| Vendor | Package | Monthly price | Minutes | Per minute | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grand Call (via Mishtalemli) | Lite | ₪149 | 50 | ₪2.98 | First month free, no commitment |
| Grand Call | Active | ₪279 | 100 | ₪2.79 | Account manager, script, monthly report |
| Grand Call | Smart | ₪429 | 200 | ₪2.15 | Same services, more minutes |
| Telekol | “From ₪79” | From ₪79 | 50–1,000 in bundles | By quote | Exact tier prices by quote; first month ₪49 promotion |
| Yes-Please (marketplace) | Day and evening | ₪190–200 | By quote | ₪1.28 per minute incl. VAT | 10:00–22:00 at ₪239 before VAT; 24/7 at ₪200–249 incl. VAT |
| FirstCall | Promo bundle | By quote | 120 minutes “worth ₪259” | About ₪2.16 | Human packages by quote only |
| “Kama Ole” price guide (2021) | Professionals | ₪100–120 / ₪200–220 / ₪400–420 | 30 / 60 / 500 | ₪0.8–4.0 | Older guide still quoted by Israeli blogs |
The bottom line for human answering: a one-person business pays ₪80–250 a month for 30–100 minutes, and a busier business pays ₪280–430 for 100–200 minutes. An extra minute costs ₪1.28–2.16, and the service runs during package hours.
AI answering: price by vendor
Israeli AI answering services come in two tiers. The first takes messages and sends a transcript, and it is very cheap. The second runs a full conversation: booking, urgency triage, transfer to a person and a WhatsApp summary. The price gap reflects the gap in work left for you.
| Vendor | Monthly price | Included minutes | Per minute | Tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mazkira AI | ₪39.90 / ₪99 / ₪149 | 300 / 1,000 / 3,000 | ₪0.13 / ₪0.10 / ₪0.05 | Message taking, email transcript, calendar booking |
| Genie | ₪179 / ₪549 | 250 / 1,000 | ₪0.72 / ₪0.55 | Full conversation on phone and WhatsApp; calendar and CRM only on Enterprise (₪3,599) |
| Mr.Bot | From ₪199 | 300 | ₪0.66 | Appointment booking, WhatsApp and email summary |
| FirstCall Ai | ₪99–469 | 4 tiers (Ai 60 to Ai 500) | About ₪1.65–0.94 | Third-party report; pricing page unavailable when checked |
| Azorly Starter | ₪199 + VAT | 200 | ₪1.00 | Full characterization, urgency triage, WhatsApp summary, transcript and recording |
| Azorly Pro | ₪449 + VAT | 600 | ₪0.75 | 2 assistants, urgent-call transfer to a person, AI copilot |
| Azorly Business | ₪999 + VAT | 1,500 | ₪0.67 | 5 assistants and numbers, PBX over SIP, calendar and CRM |
Per minute, message-taking AI costs ₪0.05–0.15, full-conversation AI costs ₪0.55–1.00, and human answering costs ₪1.28–3.00. Azorly sits at the upper end of the AI group because every minute includes triage, a summary and a recording, and still at a half to a third of the price of a human minute.

The per-minute calculation: comparing without getting lost
The only way to compare a human bureau, AI answering and a receptionist is to translate everything into the call minutes your business needs per month. A 5-minute calculation with your phone's call log is enough.
The calculation in four steps
- 1
Count calls
In your phone's call log, count two weeks of incoming calls, including the ones you missed. Double it for a monthly figure.
- 2
Multiply by call length
A small-business call lasts 2–3 minutes. 150 calls a month is 300–450 minutes.
- 3
Separate what went unanswered
If only unanswered calls go to the service (no-answer forwarding), count just those. A business missing 4 calls a day needs 200–250 minutes.
- 4
Add VAT and overage
B2B prices in Israel are quoted before 18% VAT. Check the price of a minute beyond the bundle, because that is where human bureaus get expensive fastest.
| Option | What is needed | Estimated monthly cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grand Call Smart | 200 minutes + 175 extra minutes | ₪429 + extra minutes by quote | Message taking during package hours |
| Yes-Please per minute | 375 minutes × ₪1.28 | About ₪480 incl. VAT | Message taking |
| Mazkira AI Pro | 1,000 minutes | ₪99 | Email transcript, calendar booking |
| Azorly Pro | 600 minutes | ₪449 + VAT | Full conversation, urgency triage, transfer, WhatsApp summary |
| Part-time receptionist | 4 hours a day | ₪1,500–3,000 per TheMarker Labels | Answering during work hours only |
What drives the price of phone answering
- Metering method: call minutes (most vendors) or number of calls (Onim Li). Short calls are cheaper under per-minute metering.
- Answering hours: at a human bureau, evening and 24/7 answering are priced separately. With AI there is no difference.
- What the service does: message taking alone is cheap. Calendar booking, urgency triage, transfer to a person and WhatsApp summaries raise the price and cut your workload.
- Languages: bureaus charge extra for Russian, Arabic or English. With AI it is usually included.
- VAT: 18% since 1 January 2025. Most B2B prices are quoted before VAT, and a VAT-exempt sole trader cannot reclaim it.
- Setup and commitment: agencies that build a custom voice agent charge a setup fee plus ongoing operation from ₪400 a month. Self-serve services like Azorly have no setup fee and no commitment.
- The number: forwarding from your existing number costs ₪0 to activate, but the forwarded leg is billed under your line's plan. On unlimited mobile plans it is effectively free; on a metered Bezeq line it is a few agorot a minute.
